Little Loco Goes To School

12 March, 202512 March, 2025

County Councillors in Durham have joined forces with the Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway to give primary school children a treat. Each child in schools located along the old railway line will be given a free copy of Little Loco’s BIG Day written by archaeologist Caroline Hardie and illustrated by fellow archaeologist John Pickin.

New lineside signs to celebrate Stockton and Darlington Railway 200th anniversary

To mark the 200th anniversary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway and celebrate 200 years of passenger rail travel, new signs will be erected along the surviving parts of the 1825 line between Shildon and Stockton to make passengers aware of the historical significance of the line they are travelling on.
