Premier Showing – Tracing the Rails Episode 4: Henfield to Partridge Green

Tracing the Rails Productions is proud to present the Premier Showing of Episode 4 (YouTube 2 Hour Format) at Henfield Hall, Coopers Way, BN5 9EQ, on Saturday 11th October 2025.

Tracing the Rails is a non-profit, community organisation dedicated to documenting and celebrating Britain’s railway heritage. Our acclaimed TV series airs on Rewind TV, reaching thousands, with over 60,000 more on YouTube. All proceeds are reinvested in future heritage documentaries, ensuring these stories are preserved.

Episode 4 explores the Steyning Line, once a rural route from Horsham to Shoreham. The film uncovers Henfield’s lost sand pits, and also reveals wartime relics including pillboxes and the dramatic bomb crater at Betley Bridge, a stark reminder of the line’s strategic role.

Through interviews, archive, drone footage, and engaging narration, presenters Stephen Cranford, Mike Jaimes, and Chris Bedford bring these histories vividly to life.

Though the Steyning Line closed nearly 60 years ago, its story reflects the wider 200-year railway journey. Like Stockton & Darlington, it transformed communities, supported industry, and reshaped the landscape. By sharing these local stories, we connect national celebrations to the everyday lives that railways touched.
