Railwalks.co.uk was set up in 2024 to promote walking from, and between, railway stations. Our website www.railwalks.co.uk includes maps of Britain’s coastline, showing the 250 coastal railway stations and the hundreds of walks you can do between them.
This summer, to celebrate Railway 200, we are organising Coastal Railtrail 2025, walking the best-served stretches in every region and nation. Founder member Steve Melia will be walking all 8 regional stretches – between 93 stations over 600 miles. Many railwalks supporters will be joining him along the way.
Would you like to join the start of this epic walk? The first day will walk 6 miles along the coast from Shoeburyness to Southend Central, in Essex. There is no need to register. Just turn up before 10am outside Shoeburyness railway station.
