To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, on September 27, 2025 at the Railway Museum of Asturias we will be put in steam, exceptionally that day at the same time, four steam locomotives and one steam crane.
The steam locomotives and crane of our collection involved will be:
SHE 5, Corpet (France) 542 of 1891, 600 mm gauge.
SHE D, Maffei (Germany) 3946 of 1920, 600 mm gauge.
ALEGRIA, Orenstein & Koppel (Germany), 6545 of 1913, 750 mm gauge.
SAF 1, Henschel (Germany), 24924 of 1952, 1674 mm gauge.
FAT steam crane, Stother & Pitt (Great Britain) / Fábrica de Trubia (Spain) 1889.
These full-steam displays will be completed with special guided tours in our exhibition and special activities for schoolchildren, to highlight the birth of the modern railway, 200 years ago!
