The Friends of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR) is a registered charity (Charity No: 1032933). We fundraise via bequests, legacies & donations to support the work of the KWVR. In 2024, ‘The Friends’ contributed to restoring class 25 diesel 25059, the Bridge 27 renewal at Haworth & further work to the much-loved steam loco WD 90733.
The online webinars spotlight the (often unseen) work of the volunteers operating the KWVR and allow us to learn from colleagues at sister railway heritage charities. They appeal to anyone interested in rail heritage, irrespective of geography and are available for a donation. In the spirit of Railway 200, The Friends of the KWVR are keen to share the untold stories of rail preservation, spreading the news of the great work undertaken by the hardworking teams who keep the wheels turning.
On January 14th, at 7.30 pm, join Bruce MacDougall, one of the KWVR’s engineers, as he explains the work of the department & exciting possible future developments for the KWVR’s signalling future.
