From September 19th – 21st, the North Norfolk coastal town of Sheringham hosts its hugely popular 1940s Weekend with a host of activities and entertainment including the superbly restored North Norfolk Railway, vintage vehicles, music, dance and a parade. Come along in 1940s dress and join in with the fun!

As part of Railway 200 celebrations, the Bittern Line Community Rail Partnership has joined with the fantastic Sheringham Museum to offer free admission to rail users.

Free admission to Sheringham Museum for railway ticket holders is available on September 20th & 21st 2025 between 10.30am & 4.30pm. Offer valid on all journeys by national rail into Sheringham taken between September 12th & 21st – just show a valid rail ticket from anywhere on the UK rail network into Sheringham on to receive FREE museum admission. Paper and E tickets both accepted.

The museum is a short walk from the station, turn right into Station Road, continue walking along High Street and when you reach the sea, turn right, the museum is just a few metres along. Bittern Line services are operated by Greater Anglia with hourly services into Sheringham from Norwich via Hoveton & Wroxham, North Walsham and Cromer.

Sheringham on the North Norfolk Deep History Coast dates back over 1000 years. The museum tells the story of the town and its proud, brave, independent people, told through the beautiful displays packed with interesting things to see, hear and do.
