Holymoorside Brunnenverkleidung

Erbe

Well Dressings are a unique and ancient Derbyshire tradition consisting of pictures made of flowers, petals and leaves pressed into clay-covered boards.

Our Well Dressing always celebrates an anniversary, and this year year, our main well dressing will celebrate with a depiction of the 200th Anniversary of the Stockton-Darlington Railway.

In Holymoorside we make one of the largest single well dressings using only flowers and leaves from local gardens and hedgerows. There will also be a smaller Whispering Well and a Children’s Well at the same location.

Our well dressings are made in the open on site, so are available to view 24 hours a day from when we start.

– Making Well Dressings: Sat 16 August to Wed 20 August, 10.00 to 18.00.
– Well Blessing with Holymoorside Brass Band at 7.00pm on Thursday 25th August.
– Completed Well Dressings on display: 22nd August to 7 September.

Well Dressings are located adjacent to the River Hipper at the bottom of Cotton Mill Hill, next to the UR Chapel, 100m East of The Bull Pub. What3Words: ///crypt.garden.producing
