patrimoinefamilleautre

Travel back in time to the start of railway mania with children’s book author Susan Brownrigg. Discover how steam power revolutionised travel for ordinary folk and how one boy caught up in the race to find the best new locomotive inspired Susan’s exciting mystery for ages 8+, Wrong Tracks.

Susan will talk about the different inventors that competed at the Rainhill Trials, an exciting competition to find the next new engine and explain why not everyone was in favour of this new technology. There will be a chance for children to try on replica costume as worn by characters in her book.

Susan is a former journalist, museum learning manager and now works as a part time library assistant. She is author of five children’s books and likes to write about northern people, places and events. There will be an opportunity to purchase a copy of Wrong Tracks and Susan will sign books.
