We are launching a Railway 200 poetry competition for both adults and children, running between April 2nd until July 31st 2025.
In celebration of Railway 200 it’s all steam ahead!
(or electric and diesel)
Feeling inspired? The theme is your favourite or first train journey?
Maybe it was sniff of steam?
Or the speed of the 125?
Your love of a diesel classic?
Whatever it is please send in a poem typed on A4
With the name of the poem at the top
Your name and age on the back only.

No entries will be returned so please make a copy!
One entry per person. All entries are free!
The 1st prize is travel voucher
(on a train of course)
The second prize is Railway 200 celebration book.
All poems will be displayed at Lordshill Library throughout 2025 once the winner has been announced.
