Blackmore Vale Line Community Rail Partnership is taking part in “Railway 2000, a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make history and be part of something special.” We are planning a series of events and celebrations throughout 2025.

Kicking off with a photography competition and a chance to win an opportunity to have your images turned into artwork on permanent display at your local station.

Entries Open: January 1st 2025.

Closing Date: Midnight March 5th 2025.

Blackmore Vale Line: Images accepted from any of the following stations and heritage railways covered by the Blackmore Vale Line Community Rail Partnership:

Salisbury,
Tisbury,
Gillingham,
Templecombe,
Gartell Light Railway,
Sherborne,
Yeovil Junction,
Yeovil Railway Centre,
Crewkerne
Wild Card: Something you didn’t expect to see at a station

Under 16s: Same photographic categories for young people aged 16 and under.

Entry Guidelines for BVCRP photographic competition.

Open to all and photographs can be colour or black and white.

Format: Camera and digital media such as a camera phone or tablet.

Quality: Good quality resolution preferably JPEG or TIFF image at least 300DPI preferably 400–600DPI.

VERY IMPORTANT: Photographs to be of a high resolution – a file size of 5MB and above.

Photographs must be named – a title, location and the photographers name on the file image. Photographs submitted without meeting these requirements unfortunately cannot be included.

The competition closes at Midnight on 5th March 2025. Judging will take place shortly after the closing date Followed by an awards ceremony and artwork launch at the station. Send your images via WeTransfer full details on our website.
