Look Draw Build@Reading Station is a project which since 2022 has engaged some 450 children, mainly in Year 5, in 15-18 classes each year practically in Engineering, Architecture and the history and future of the Railways. It started in 2022 as project by Archi-Adventure of Barcelona and Reading Civic Society.
In 2025 It is funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, Network Rail, The Earley Charity and The Rotary Club of Reading
The activities include; the children to being taken around Reading station by GWR Senior Accessibility Mentor. Model railway station building workshops in class lead by us and supported by STEM Ambassadors from companies such as STANTEC, Ridge & Partners , Mott Macdonald and Taziker and Reading Civic Society Members.
An introduction to the project for the children is a video about the story of the Railway and the key parts of a station.
The Reading phase of the project was delivered this year between February to end March. It will be delivered in Bristol end April to early June.
