This online talk is one of the series marking Railway 200, via the Institute of Historical Research’s Transport & Mobility History Seminar. It is free to attend, and aimed at anyone with an interest in railway history.
In this session we’ll hear more about some of the railway records held by three key archives – the National Railway Museum, The National Archives of the UK and Transport for London Corporate Archives. Each of our panel of expert archivists will highlight some well-known sources and some hidden gems. Between them, they will outline some of their archival holdings and how researchers might make use of them. This is a great chance to find out more about the archives and to ask your questions.
Our presenters will be Dr Jessamy Carlson (The National Archives of the UK), Alison Kay (National Railway Museum) and Tamara Thornhill (Transport for London Corporate Archives).
