As of 12th of July 2025, the museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of preserving and showcasing the industrial steam heritage of the area. Throughout its history, the museum has hosted various events, including the annual Autumn Steam Gala, which was shortlisted for the Best Small Event category in the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2024.
