Whimple Heritage Centre’s Railway Display

heritage

To mark the 200th anniversary of the modern railway, come and see our display about the railway in Whimple. Covering the history of the station and its heyday transporting both goods and workers for the international business of Whiteway’s Cyder Company, as well as the story of the Whimple engine, this is a must for all rail enthusiasts.

The Whimple Heritage Centre is open between 1st April to 30th September.

Opening hours: Wednesdays and Saturdays 12pm-4pm, and Bank Holiday Mondays 10.30am-4pm.

Group visits outside these hours can be arranged by appointment.

Entry is free – donations towards the running of the Centre are much appreciated.

The Heritage Centre is wheelchair accessible, has a car park at the rear, and also has a shop selling a selection of souvenirs. It is a short walk from Whimple railway station.

Refreshments can be obtained from one of two nearby pubs.

FREE children’s quizzes are available – please ask.
