On 9 May former history enthusiast and former Friends of Brockenhurst Station (FoBS) Chairman David Bennett will be giving a talk called Tickets to Brockenhurst telling the history of the station and how as a significant junction it influenced the development of our small rural community. The event is being held at the Village Hall tickets are £5 each. Proceeds will go to local community causes.

To celebrate the Station opening on June 1 in 1847 FoBS will be having a small party unveiling a commemorative plaque. This will take place midday at the station, on Sunday June 1, and will showcase our extensive history displays, our plans for station artwork. We hope to also present the restored prints by regular passenger and pioneering photographer Julia Margaret Cameron donated to the station in 1871. Other stalls will look the future and more sustainable transport connections. Contact friendsofbrockenhurststation@gmail.com for more information on both events
