A 75 minute presentation by Barry Coward telling the story of British Transport Films, created by the British Transport Commission in 1949 and finally closed by British Rail in 1986. Barry was BTF archivist until 1996 . It is the story of Britain’s largest industrial film unit producing over 700 films and slide shows, winning over 200 awards, including a Hollywood Oscar. BTF’s principal client was British Railways.
