Railfuture Mini-Conference in Peterborough at the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery on Thursday 15 May from 12noon.
The conference has been split into three parts, with something for everybody.
We start with infrastructure, looking at the exciting plans to improve Peterborough Station Quarter and provide a western entrance (when will Cambridge get its eastern entrance?), followed by the highly ambitious, expensive, challenging but exciting project to reunify the two surviving parts of the Great Central Railway, crossing the Midland Mainline.
Our next two speakers will discuss the passenger railway, both train services and purchasing tickets (including innovative ideas) in the new Great British Railways (GBR) era.
After a break, a chance to watch a 45-minute video using the archives of British Transport Films, presented by its former archivist, as part of the year-long celebration of Rail 200.
This event is not just for Railfuture members. If you work in the rail industry, use trains, or maybe just want to find out more, then please do join us. You’ll receive a friendly welcome.
The conference is FREE to attend! We are asking for a modest £5 donation towards the refreshments (tea/coffee) and light lunch (sandwiches and crisps), payable on arrival.
