Rose Hill Station: Opening of the embankment steps

other

We are The Friends of Rose Hill Station, a group of volunteers who , for over ten years have worked on improving the environment of the station and have campaigned for an improved rail service. We have made substantial improvements to the station gardens.

The platform embankment required terraced steps to assist the volunteers in restoring that garden to its former glories. This was achieved with the assistance of Northern Rail and Hitachi UK staff .

Restoration of the embankment garden is an on-going project, but we felt it worthwhile to celebrate the completion of the steps with an event within Rail 200, and have invited representatives from Northern, Hitachi, Transport For Greater Manchester, South East Manchester Community Rail Partnership and have circulated details across our social media outlets.

Event: Rose Hill Station, Marple, on Wednesday 25th June at 3pm.
