heritage

To celebrate Railway 200, explore Cambridge’s industrial heritage with a guided walk (approximately 2hours) that departs from Cambridge North Railway Station concourse to Cambridge Museum of Technology.

Local guides from Cambridge Industrial Archaeology Group will help you: explore the former site of Chesterton sidings (re-opened as a passenger station in 2017); follow the route of the railway south, via pedestrian bridge across the river Cam; rediscover former railway lines across Stourbridge Common before arriving at Cambridge Museum of Technology in Riverside (ticket includes admission to the Museum).

Walks (~1.3 miles/2kms) depart 10:00am on Friday 21 November + Saturday 22 November 2025 from the foyer concourse of Cambridge North Railway Station.

Tickets (£16, includes entry to Museum after the walk), available to purchase in advance (online, or from Museum ticket)
