1722 Waggonway Celebration

Visit Cockenzie, birthplace of Scotland’s early railways. to celebrate the 1722 Tranent – Cockenzie Waggonway and all it represents. A packed day of activities on Saturday 17th May is preceded by a talk on the evening of 16th May by Anthony Dawson and Ed Bethune.

Friday 16th May 7.30pm
*Talk by A Dawson and E Bethune – Tranent to Cockenzie and Early Scottish Railways. (Local venue TBC)

Saturday 17th May
* 1722 Waggonway Museum opens at 10am
* Interactive traditional skills and craft activities all day
*Guided walks, including costumed reenactors
– 12.30pm Seton and Waggonway long walk (approx 5.5 miles)
– 1.30pm Cockenzie short flat circuit (approx 1.5 miles)
* Evening Celebrations
* Licensed Bar open 3pm – 11pm
