The exhibition taking place on the 5th and 6th of April is primarily to showcase artifacts and information about the Ashover Light Railway, aiming to present as much information about the railway.
The Ashover Light Railway Society is organising this event, and it is open for all to attend.
A short presentation about the railway and other activities will be held throughout the weekend in celebration of the railway officially opening on 7th April. It’s connection with Railway 200 lies in the fact that this narrow gauge railway is heavily linked with shaping the railways built for industrial Britain, and through the use of its war department infrastructure contains historically significant importance.
Additionally, the railway was created in order to serve the Clay Cross works, of which the Stephensons were founders of.
