Celebrating 60 Years of The Sound of Music in song

familyother

On Saturday 13 September
Join in the singing at New Malden Station Car Park (14:00-15:00)
Plus a screening of singalong Sound of Music at New Malden Methodist Church (15:15 – 18:00)
Sing four classic songs from The Sound of Music as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the record breaking The Sound of Music album in a fun event for everyone in New Malden Station Car Park.

Why?
The Sound of Music soundtrack album was produced and distributed by Decca Records in New Malden in 1965. It topped the UK album charts for 70 weeks in total between 1965 and 1968!
To celebrate the legacy of this amazing music heritage we will be holding a mass singing event followed by a singalong film screening of the original film. This programme is part of the Railway 200 celebrations, and we invite people to come along.

Come along and sing 4 songs from the original soundtrack:
– Sound of Music
– Do Re Mi
– My Favourite Things
– Climb Every Mountain

Dress as a nun for the performances and lets see if we can create the largest gathering of nuns celebrating The Sound of Music (or come along as another character from the film)
