Hassocks grew up around the station which opened in 1841. Hassocks Rail Group (part of Hassocks Community Organisation) is joining in the Railway 200 nationwide celebrations on Saturday 27th September 2025 by having a display in the Ticket Office at Hassocks Station. Visit the Ticket Office between 9.30am and 5.00pm where we will have:
- Historic exhibition: discover the station’s history through photographs
- Model railway: miniature trains with sounds
- Railway memories: sharing your stories
- Kid’s corner: stickers and colouring books
- Keepsake cards with pictures of the old and new stations and a potted history of the different stations
- Walking and cycling leaflets supporting Hassocks Station as a gateway to the South Downs
- Come along and join in the celebrations and collect your keepsake card
