A public exhibition for all ages highlighting Ashford’s contribution to UK railways in the Bicentenary Year.
The exhibition in pictures, words, artefacts and film will showcase the surviving locomotives and rolling stock from Ashford Works’ 135 years history of design and manufacture supported by stories of the people who made it happen and the legacy impact on the town.
The exhibition will be free and run for a month in March and April 2025, coinciding with the Ashford Festival of Railway Modelling 2025 on 12/13 April, now in its 3rd year of showcasing the world of railways in miniature. The exhibition will be curated in conjunction with Ashford Museum, Ashford Library and Tales from the Tracks.
Ashford’s Gateway Plus is a step-free publicly accessible building in the centre of Ashford which contains the town library, other council and KCC services, toilets and the CIC-operated Food with Friends Cafe.
