Handforth Town Council is running an event to commemorate the 80 anniversary of VE Day, on Sat 10th May 2025 . As part of this, the Friends of Handforth Station will present a display promoting Railway 200, covering Handforth Station’s history since it opened in 1842, and highlighting the station’s contribution to military efforts in both World War I and World War II. We also intend to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease, and to make a collection on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society.
