Look Draw Build@Reading Station is a project which, since 2022, has engaged some 450 children, mainly in Year 5, in 10 Reading Primary schools, 15-18 classes each year, practically in Engineering, Architecture and the history and future of the Railways. It is run by Archi-Adventure of Barcelona and Reading Civic Society.

In 2025 the project became Look Draw Build@ Reading & Bristol Stations as we extend it for the first time to include 9 Bristol Primary Schools.

The Reading leg of the project was undertaken during February and March, shown as separate events on this site.

During April and May it will, for the first time, be delivered to 9 Bristol Primary schools, 14 classes of year 5 children. The participating schools, from across Bristol, are; Badocks Wood E-ACT Academy, Christ Church CE Primary, Sea Mills Primary, Compass Point Primary, Cotham Gardens Primary, St Peter and Paul RC Primary, Our Lady of the Rosary RC Primary. Stoke Bishop CE Primary and Two Mile Hill Primary.

The project starts after Easter when we will ask the teachers to show the participating classes a specially commissioned video about the history of the railway and key features of a station.

The video may be seen https://vimeo.com/1075686761. The Bristol Temple Meads section is from 8:27 minutes in to 10:34 minutes:

This is followed by visits to Bristol Temple Meads Station led by the GWR Senior Accessibility Mentor who will explain the history of the station, the important features of a station and the key message of safety on the railway . There is a separate entry about this.

Other postings about the project will follow later in April.
