Join Network Rail’s Multi-Faith Network and NishkamSWAT to Celebrate Vaisakhi

other

Network Rail’s Multi-Faith Network which has been established for over 10 years, in collaboration with the charity NishkamSWAT (Sikh Welfare & Awareness Team), are coming together to celebrate Vaisakhi at London Victoria Station concourse on Saturday 19 April, between 12pm and 4pm. Vaisakhi is one of the most significant dates in the Sikh calendar, commemorating the founding of the Khalsa in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh Ji – a defining moment that shaped the Sikh identity and spirit.

Join Sikh colleagues from across the industry, alongside NishkamSWAT, who will be distributing free food to the homeless and the public while raising awareness of efforts to foster a more diverse and inclusive culture within the rail industry. We proudly acknowledge the contributions of Sikh individuals working across all levels of the railway sector throughout the last 200 years.

This Vaisakhi event is more than a religious and cultural celebration. It is a living expression of Sikh values, a platform for education, and a bridge between communities. These types of events raise awareness of the diverse communities we serve who have built and sustained Britain’s railway network for 200 years.

Whether you are a Network Rail colleague, a NishkamSWAT volunteer, or a member of the public we thank you for joining us in honouring this powerful message of unity, faith, identity, and selfless service.
