Are you blind or partially sighted (BPS) and want to gain confidence using the rail network in the North West region? Discover the joys of independent rail travel with Lancashire Sight Loss Council’s ‘Try the Train’ event, funded by Community Rail Lancashire at Preston train station on Thursday, 5 June 2025. Sight Loss Councils, funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust, are regional groups led by blind and partially sighted volunteers who use their lived experience to work with organisations and institutions to ensure what they do is accessible and inclusive for people with sight loss.

This is a free event offering you the chance to navigate your local station, board a train and familiarise yourself with its layout, before embarking on a return journey with like-minded people in an accessible environment.

-Date: Thursday, 5 June 10:00am – 3:30pm
-Location: Ticket office, Preston station, Lancashire, PR1 8AP
