This is a guided walk of market Harborough Railway Station by a trained Blue Badge Tourist Guide.

At its height in the late 19th century Market Harborough was the largest station in south Leicestershire on the main Midland line down into London.

The station was an important hub for transporting livestock, including everything from cattle, sheep, horses to pigeons. It also saw a number of the Royalty from all over Europe alight on to its platforms.

During the walk you will discover about the beginnings of the railway with particular emphasis on Market Harborough.
