special

South West London Sight Loss Council and Govia Thameslink Railway Present: ‘Try a Train’ at Sutton Station on Thursday, 22 May 2025, 10.30am – 1.15pm.

Sight Loss Councils (SLCs), funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust, are regional groups led by blind and partially sighted volunteers who use their lived experience to work with organisations and institutions to ensure what they do is accessible and inclusive for people with sight loss.

Join us for a special opportunity to explore train travel in a safe and accessible environment. During the event, you will:

-Discover the accessible features and services at Sutton Station, including the support available for blind and partially sighted passengers.
-Learn about the assistance offered at stations and onboard, ensuring a smoother travel experience.
-Take a short, guided train trip to Wimbledon Station, where you’ll have the chance to familiarise yourself with onboard facilities.
-Participate in an informative Q&A at Wimbledon Station with representatives from GTR, South Western Railway, and the TFL Travel Mentor programme before returning to Sutton Station.
