Scheldeland a Stoom

patrimonio

The Belgian heritage railway Stoomtrein Dendermonde Puurs organises a steam festival celebrating 200 years of modern railways on the 5th and 6th of July. Historical Belgian steam and diesel locomotives will be running both days on an intensive schedule between the towns of Baasrode and Puurs.

On both ends of the line you can visit various activities like a big exposition of rolling stock, model railways, live steam, oldtimer gathering and many other things!

To complete the experience you can take a ride on a steamship on the river Scheldt between Baasrode & Sint-Amands and a visit to the historical shipyard of Baasrode.

The locomotive power consists of the following steam locomotives:
-Tubize 2069, known for its appearances at the famous international steam festival of Wolsztyn in Poland.
-HSP 1378, back in service after a complete boiler overhaul.
-Cockerill 3089, this unique locomotive with a vertical boiler is making a visit from the Netherlands.
-La Meuse AD09, a powerful locomotive from the coal mines is visiting as well.

And these diesel locomotives:
-5922
-6219
-8228
