Charity partner: Railway Mission

Spoorwegmissie provides pastoral and emotional support to anyone in the railway industry who needs it – from staff facing personal crisis to members of the public affected by rail incidents.

Why your help matters

Railway staff often encounter trauma, stress and isolation – and chaplains are there to listen, guide and support with total confidentiality. Your fundraising through Railway 200 helps keep this unique network of care active across the UK’s railways.

Real voices, real support

Railway Mission chaplains provide emotional and spiritual care to staff in need – from health crises to relationship breakdowns. Whether it’s support after a traumatic relocation, help through mental health struggles, or just being present during a tough day, chaplains are trusted confidants on the railway – offering quiet strength when it’s needed most.

“Emotional and spiritual support in a time of crisis is one of the most valuable things you can give to a person. The Railway Mission provides this help to railway staff, the British Transport Police and the travelling public – taking care of the mental welfare of our railway family both day-to-day and following traumatic incidents.”

Sir Peter Hendy CBE – Minister for Rail
