ON TRACK FOR MUSIC (KOLEJ NA MUZYKĘ)

December 2025 – June 2026

Faculty of Music Education, Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz (Poland)

Embark on an unforgettable journey where the power of music meets the pioneering spirit of the railway! From December 2025 to June 2026, the Kuyavian-Pomeranian educational places in Bydgoszcz will host “KOLEJ NA MUZYKĘ” (“ON TRACK FOR MUSIC”)—a unique celebration created to honour the 200th anniversary of modern rail transport as part of the international Railway 200 initiative.

Join us as we revisit the groundbreaking first passenger journey of 27 September 1825, when travellers experienced a transformative 26-mile ride from Shildon and Darlington to Stockton. Through an inspiring lecture and a captivating concert, audiences will be transported to the dawn of the railway age, discovering the musical passions of the era and the remarkable ways in which 19th-century technological progress echoed across culture and the arts.

The event features an engaging historical and musicological presentation, accompanied by a live performance by talented students and members of the Artes Liberales Scientific Association from the Faculty of Music Education at Kazimierz Wielki University.

“ON TRACK FOR MUSIC” is more than a cultural event—it is an open invitation to the entire community to experience history, creativity, and music education in an inspiring, accessible way. Step aboard and let the journey begin!
