Travelling with Confidence – conference

arall

A half-day conference about the railway of today and of the future – specifically focused on the goal of making rail more accessible and inclusive. The conference brings together people from the rail industry, academia, and customer and campaign organisations.

This is a hybrid event with the in-person attendance now at capacity, but with the option to join the conference online.

The morning session begins with a look at the broader context of Barriers to Rail Travel.

Four speakers will then look at accessibility from different perspectives: Disability, neurodiversity, families, and women and girls travelling alone.

The afternoon session focuses on learnings from other modes and sectors, learnings from abroad, and the preparatory work being undertaken to place accessibility at the heart of GBR.

Two panel sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) provide an opportunity to explore the issues in more detail and facilitate a discussion with contributions from attendees (both in-person and online).

Organised by West Coast Partnership Development (WCPD) and UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN). Please contact illiam.costain@wcpd.co.uk for details.
