Rail 200: History & Heritage Day (How Rail Has Shaped the Isle of Sheppey)

erfgoed

On Sunday 28th September, to celebrate 200 years of rail passenger travel, we will have a morning of talks by rail experts and local historians at The Criterion Heritage Centre, Sheerness exploring how the development of rail has shaped the Isle of Sheppey, in relation to aviation, the dockyards and economic activity.

In the afternoon there will be a free bus tour across the island visiting key sites along the old Sheppey Light Railway, the Queenborough tram network and aviation museum.
