Walks with History – A Walk from the Train, Gunnislake to Calstock.
Meet at Plymouth Railway Station, PL4 6AB at 10.00am to catch the 10.24 train.

Join Walks with History as we take a train into the Tamar Valley to look at the history of the area following the arrival of the East Cornwall Railway in 1872. We will travel to Gunnislake by train before walking to Calstock following the route of the former railway where possible. This will include a descent of part of the Danescombe incline which was used to get mineral railway wagons to the riverside at Calstock. The walk and the train fare are pay on the day (in cash). Train fare is £5.50 and the walk is £5.00. We aim to be back in Plymouth by 4pm. Walk length 3 miles. For details and to book a place please email walkswithhistory@gmail.com
