To mark the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, to the day, Beamish Museum is operating an enhanced programme of transport activities on Saturday 27th September. This will include passenger rides at the recreated North Eastern Railway station, and the 1820s Waggonway; 1871-built steam locomotive ‘Coffee Pot No.1’ shunting historic chaldron waggons in the Edwardian Colliery yard and a variety of vintage and veteran road vehicles, many over a century old, on display in the Colliery and out on the museum’s road network. The museum’s usual tramway and bus services will also be in operation on the day, as well as the rest of the museum fantastic attractions. Annual pass holders can use their tickets to attend, at no extra cost.
