Pentref Tramffordd Crich: Penwythnos Tramiau

Crich Tramway Village is home to the National Tramway Museum. The collection contains more than 80 vintage trams, from the earliest form of horse drawn tram through to the most advanced all electric tramcar of the first-generation trams, as well as support / maintenance vehicles.

Tram Weekend on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September from 10am will celebrate Rail 200, with many of our operational trams running.

Our Grimsby & Immingham tram will be out on static display and historical footage on show. Grimsby and Immingham 14, built in 1915, is a successful example of a kind of ‘tram train’ hailing from a much earlier era. The tramcar is a fascinating hybrid that incorporates elements of early electric train-based railcars and more conventional interurban tramcars. As a ‘one-off’, however, it is something of an anomaly and cannot be said to either represent, or have influenced, the development of first generation tramways more generally.

Come and see whether you can spot your favourite tram and enjoy multiple rides. Live music will be playing from the bandstand both days.
