Railway 200 honoured rail’s historic legacy, celebrated railway workers, built excitement for the industry’s future and inspired the next generation of rail professionals.
Thousands of events took place involving school children, families and local communities, going beyond track and train.
Across 2025 and beyond, thousands of events celebrated a British invention that revolutionised travel, supercharged economies – and changed our world forever.
We hope that excitement, curiosity, pride, ambition, collaboration and renewed purpose that Railway 200 sparked continue down the track – all the way to the 250th anniversary celebrations.
To everyone who played their part: thank you.
